A trail moves house
A new home: St. Veit im Pongau
After many unforgettable years in Schwarzach, our trail event is moving to the Salzburg sun terrace: from 2027 we run in St. Veit im Pongau – as the Sonnenterrassen Trail.
The heart of it all is the market square in the middle of the village: this is where the gun goes off, this is where the finish waits, this is where the trail beats on event day – with the event centre, food and drink, music and the best atmosphere in the Pongau.
The date is fixed: Friday to Saturday, 21 to 22 May 2027. The anticipation? Already running.
The event centre at the market square
Short distances, one meeting point
At the Sonnenterrassen Trail everything is within walking distance: race numbers are handed out on the first floor of the Gemeindestube (TVB, Markt 12) — right on the market square. The race office is on the ground floor in the tourist board’s office.
The briefing and the organisation team are at home in the function room of Hotel Metzgerwirt, just a few steps from the start. In between there is plenty of room for coffee, music and meeting trail friends again — before the start, and even more so afterwards.

Start & finish at the market square
Every race starts and finishes at the market square in St. Veit im Pongau – in the middle of the village, in the middle of everything.

Three distances
Trail K12, K35 and K53: from a first trail adventure to the long loop across the sun terrace. The exact courses are being worked out.

Race number collection
On the first floor of the Gemeindestube (TVB, Markt 12) — from 17:00 on Friday and from 06:00 on event day, staggered by race.

Showers & changing
After you cross the line, showers are available at the sports facility; toilets can be found in the municipal building and in the bars and restaurants.

Aid stations along the course
On every distance, aid stations keep you supplied with drinks and snacks. How many there will be and how far apart they lie will be settled with the final routing.

Prize giving & party
In the afternoon we celebrate every finisher on the market square stage – and then celebrate the first Sonnenterrassen Trail together.
Be there from the very first edition
Registration opens on 1 November 2026 at 10:00. Put the date in your diary – if you are there from the start, you will be at the front of the first edition in St. Veit.

Courses being planned — elevation profiles already online
Start and finish are fixed: the market square in St. Veit im Pongau. The planned courses follow the tried and tested Schwarzach routes and will be run clockwise in 2027 (as currently planned). Once the courses are settled you will find elevation profiles and GPX files on the race pages for K12, K35 and K53 — all the details on aid stations and GPX data will be published as soon as the routing is final.

Three people make up a team: everyone runs the course — together or on their own. The three times are added up to give the overall time. Clubs, companies, families, groups of friends and everyone else can take part. Details and the entry fee will follow.
